Medicare Drug Plans (Part D)
PART D – MEDICARE COVERAGE FOR PRESCRIPTION DRUGS
We highly recommend that you sign up for this program. You may enroll when you first become eligible for Medicare (three months before the month you turn age 65 until three months after you turn age 65). For every month you delay thereafter, the government has instituted a penalty of 1% of the base beneficiary premium for each uncovered month. This can quickly add up and is an additional expense that you do not want to incur. For more information on Part D of Medicare go to:

RECOMMENDED PLANS
We have reviewed the Part D Prescription Plans that are now available. There are two plans that we recommend for 2010:
- AARPMedicareRX Preferred – This plan has no deductible and costs $37.60 a month. If you have higher prescription bills, then consider this plan.
· BLUE CROSS MedicareRX Standard – This plan has a $310 deductible and costs $28.40 per month. If your bills tend to be low, this plan with a deductible may make more sense.
Remember, you can change your plan every year during the Annual Election Period, which runs between November 15 and December 31.
