A Different Type of Insurance Agency…
WHO ARE WE, AND HOW ARE WE DIFFERENT?

Although one of the partners of Sutker Insurance Services was born in Hartford, Connecticut, the Insurance Capital of the World, neither one of us grew up aspiring to be insurance agents. We are baby boomer’s like you and insurance was certainly not on our minds as students in Berkeley in the late 1960’s. |
| So when we address insurance issues that impact the “baby boomer’s,” we are not talking in the abstract. We are talking about a group that we are part of and know extremely well. We understand your concerns and needs, because we share them
We have been specializing in the insurance needs of those 65 and over for more than 25 years. We became one of the premier agencies in Northern California focusing on Medicare Supplements and Long-Term-Care Insurance. Much of our success was based on the fact that we were not insurance sales people and truthfully, were uncomfortable with the idea of “selling.” What we did and still do is simply talk to people and, when asked, guide them in making the best decisions for their financial needs. Our loyalty has always been to our clients, not to insurance companies. Because of our backgrounds and because of how we wanted to do business, we created a consumer-oriented insurance agency. We were the first and possibly the only agents to go into Senior Centers around the San Francisco Bay Area and to train the HICAP counselors who assist seniors in understanding their options for both Medicare supplements and Long-Term-Care Insurance. We were the first and possibly the only agents to actually assist the Department of Insurance in evaluating all the Medicare Supplements and Long-Term- Care Insurance policies available in California, and help them understand what each policy offered. We have seen exceptionally intelligent people tearing their hair out in frustration when determining how to adequately insure themselves. If you are one of those, it is not your fault. Nor is it any limitation on your part. Insurance language is very confusing, plans are presented in an unclear manner, and unfortunately it seems to be getting worse, not better. There are so many choices – so how does one choose? After working with thousands of people, we know how to make it easy. |
